Han In Japan

I moved to Tokyo. Read about it here.

Hey! Hi! Hello!

Hannah here! Thanks for visiting my page and following along on this journey with me.

First things first, to the left is me (and my dog, Stella: light of my life).

We live in San Antonio, Texas and have been here for almost six years. During my time here, I have gotten to know myself really well, made the most wonderful friends, started a little side biz as an entertainer, traveled to many cool places with many cool people, made big moves in my career, and online dated, like a lot, which is where I met this handsome fellow (Chase):

He asked if I wanted to move to Japan (where he grew up) and I said yes. Then, I married his ass.

(Don’t try to plan your own wedding btw. Just pay someone. Trust me.)

Chase is a pilot for the US Air Force. After debating for a while whether to stay in the Air Force, or bounce and do van life together for a couple years, Chase got the assignment to Yokota and it was just too exciting to pass up. For Chase because this is the place that he considers to be his home, and for me because adventurous spirit, wanderlust, etc. With plans to make the move in the middle of May, preparations are in full swing. This site is where you can follow along on our journey: the small, the big, the mundane, and the exciting. I am looking forward to sharing and staying connected with you all via this site during our time in Japan.

If you had told me three years ago that I would be leaving my home, family, friends, and career to move across the world for the military, I likely would have responded with something like, “haha, AS IF, patriarchy!”, but here we are, and I am happy about it. I think this is a prime example of how life is weird and you truly never know where you are going to end up. I am embracing the journey and am so psyched for all Tokyo has to offer.

Stay tuned for more updates as we get ready to go!
