A few weeks ago, we celebrated my 30th birthday! In honor of this momentous milestone, this is a three part series which includes 30 updates/thoughts/feelings since the last time I posted.

Part II – My Last ______ In Texas, At Least for a While..

10. Family Weekend in Fredericksburg
Chase and I spent one last fun-filled TX Hill Country weekend with his parents, my mom, and my sister. We took in the sights and smells of the blooming wildflowers, ate all the German food, imbibed quite a bit of Texas wine, and the group came to hear me sing at one of my last gigs in Fredericksburg at Hilmy Cellars.

11. Concert
After one very long day in the queue on the infamous Ticketmaster website and several long months waiting in eager anticipation, the Eras Tour was everything I hoped it would be! Taylor, we love you! Here we are before the concert with our coordinating toy microphones. Heheh

12. Haircut
My last haircut from the best of the best here in SA, Jose Casteneda. The man, the myth, the legend behind the bangs I’ve been sporting for the last several years. I found Jose because I used to walk Stella by his salon every day. I came for the haircut, but stayed for the vibes. 13. Party
A huge thank you to everyone who came to celebrate at my Golden Going Away party. I feel so loved and supported and will miss you all terribly, but am so looking forward to this next chapter. 

14. Gig
I posted about our last few gigs with Extra Special to our whopping ~200 social media followers and was so touched and delighted when people came to listen to us and say goodbye. Serenading the masses with Nate over the last five years has been such a joy and I am eternally grateful to all the places that booked us, all the cool and interesting people we met along the way, and to Craigslist, where we found each other. Literally how did we get so lucky?! Also, how poetic is it that our first and last gig was at the same place? We love you, Hilmy!

15. Impromptu Kerrville Visit 
For the first time in nine years, the dinner gang was reunited! Judy and Graydon took Steph and I in after meeting us while singing in the First Presbyterian Church Choir choir together while we were in undergrad. They would host monthly dinners at their place, giving us poor college students the luxury of delicious home-cooked food, wonderful company, and almost always a bag of cookies to take back to campus with us. It had been so long since we all sat around their table, talking and laughing together; it was a lovely impromptu visit, followed by a tearful “see you later.” I love you guys!

17. Election Night Party
I drove up to Fort Worth for one last election night watch party with the team from work. We celebrated a successful night overall for kids and school bonds in Texas! I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to be a part of this team and am going to miss these ladies so much! 

18. Day of Work
May 10th was my last day at Huckabee. I’ve been with the company just under six years, have totally loved it, and will miss being a part of what is, in my opinion, the best side of politics. 

19. Bestie Sleepover
How lucky am I that Stephani was in town from Colorado and we got to have one last girls night?! See you on the other side of the Pacific, my friend! 

20. Birthday Photo Shoot with Stella
Stella turned five! We have a cute little tradition of taking a photo together on the steps outside our place every year. Don’t worry, we will find a new photo spot in Japan! 

21. Mother’s Day
I drove to Houston and celebrated my mom and all the mothers in our family this past weekend. Much love to you all and all who mother and care for others. ❤
